Satoshi Kon: 5 years ago yesterday he passed away.

I still remember not believing it, but the folks on LJ had the obituary copied here along with Kon's last writing about his death. the world misses his talent.

So today, I'm greeting 53 degree weather. at 10AM! and it rained out too. But I did manage success yesterday. I had my laboratory work done. Yay. Things have changed! I swear, Microsoft and all the tablet PC makers had a hand in creating the sign in center. I'm used to being greeted by a receptionist, who would take all the necessary information needed to get me to move on. Not so today kemo sabe. I was greeted by a tablet looking device, propped on a desk. I had no idea what to do. I even looked for a help desk person or instructions. nada. Then, a kind woman pointed to the start button. I offered to let her go first, but she was very kind: she let me discover the new ELECTRONIC sign in machine. ok, spell your first name, then a space and your last names initial. then up pops another screen asking you which departmental service you need. they are worded, but also have BIG PICTURES of the depts. like for me, LAB. I pressed that and another screen popped up asking me if that was all. I pressed finish. Presto. Yay. that was so easy. then before I could thank the lady for helping me, a live voice called me. Oh, this digital sign in thing saved so much time. instead of simply saying to a receptionist "I need blood lab work", I went through the tablet express.

The rest was simple, except she couldn't find a vein. she tried twice, but no go. then the third time was a charm. ah...the whole adventure lasted only 20 minuets.
Now tomorrow I can log on to my computer and find out the results. ah, nada. I'll let the Dr. explain all that to me.

so, time to go. all this excitement wore me out.
I'm off.
