we haven't heard that sound since last year. Hail doesn't count.
That's so terrible about that German plane crashing in the mountains. This gives me pause as I make plans to visit Japan. ( this is a dream of mine). I've already discovered, just looking at the Japanese land marks, 7 days isn't long enough. oh how nice it would be to have a 3 to 6 month job lined up. Funny, I don't feel the same way about any other country. There's something about the tradition and customs of Japan that just seems to call me. I also would love to visit Finland. my home country. Gads, I wish I knew more languages than just English!!!

oh well, time to cuddle the cat and go on my search for a new lap top computer. Say, any of you have a recommendation for lap tops???

ok, I'm off

you should plan at LEAST two weeks for Japan... otherwise the long travel there isn't worth it... well, it's still worth it, but it really is a long flight... at least from Europe it is...

and yes... the plane crash was horrible. the whole evening yesterday you could hardly watch anything else, even though they had no new news at all... *sigh* I was especially shocked when I heard about the student's group that was returning from Spain... *sigh*

how would you like to plan what to see in that short of time?? Me neither. There is just so much to see. Riding the rails would be a trip in itself. boy howdy!! I think the ticket price for rail riding might just exceed the cost of air fare.
One can but dream.

I feel the same! I feel as if I could visit another country and spend a few weeks there, no more. But spending 3-6 months in Japan, of course!

I was thinking maybe making a list of things you want to see, then attempting to narrow it down. Good luck with that. but, it's worth a try.
