18 years is old for a cat.

I brought Scooter the cat home yesterday. 18 years is old for a cat. He's home now.  I now am feeling sorrow, grief, and thinking about how we became pals. I already miss him walking on my bed, meowing to me to wake up. If that didn't work, he'd use his paws to try and pull the bedding off me. If that didn't work, he'd give up and curled up next to me and go to sleep. Till I get up. Then, the everyday ritual would be, he walking in front of me and lead me into the bathroom then after breakfast, and a shower, I'd sit in my chair, and he'd jump up and......go to sleep. The nerve of cats!  But I’m not sharing this with you to scare you off of getting a pet. My life, even now, has been so much richer than it would have been without him. But, while this does hurt now, I must really value these animals. There is 17 buried in my backyard, and 6 cremation urns with Samoyed dogs in my house. I guess, either I never learn, or...I have already learned.
Enjoy your pet.
Cuddle them today.
Happy Valentines Days.
I'm off
